Hi Ultra Cyclists,
This year we are rolling out a new format for QuadZilla. QuadZilla will be four consecutive 125 mile rides (brevets) . Shorter options are available Days 2-4 without brevet credit. Bag sag will be provided to each evening’s official motels. QuadZilla logo swag is included in your registration fee.
What: A 500 mile (four consecutive 200km ACP/RUSA brevets), Randonneur-style endurance event encompassing all 11 of the Finger Lakes.
When: Wednesday July 25 to Saturday July 28, 2012. Start time each day is 7am.
Where: The start location is Wegmans Market on Rte 13 in Ithaca, NY. The Meadow Court motel is across the street, 800-852-4014, for Tuesday and Saturday accomadations. Register with your credit card one of the rooms reserved under “QuadZilla” for a special rate of $69 for Tuesday and $99 for Saturday. A Super 8 and Hampton Inn are close by but possibly more expensive. All three will be official motels for QZ. Make these reservations ASAP!
Cost: $200. includes bag sag, map of all area roads, cues, QuadZilla logo mementos. Please fill out the Registration Form and return it promptly with your check. Or use BikeReg for credit card registrations with no service charge.
Tourism: Call the Ithaca Visitors Center at 800-284-8422 for a brochure of area accommodations and events. Plan to stay a few extra days and see the sights!

Registration & Bike Inspection: Beginning at 6:am Wednesday at the designated Wegmans parking area. Registration will also take place at the Meadow Court motel on Tuesday from 5-8pm.
Time Limit: Per the brevet card you will receive at registration. The ride will follow the standard ACP brevet times for controls.
Bag Sag: Single duffel bag (please label bag) will be sagged to the official hotels in Canandaigua , Auburn and back to Ithaca. Bags will be picked up from those hotels in the morning including Ithaca motels at the start. Each motel will have a designated place for your duffel bag. One bag per person, no bike boxes, wheels, etc. Canandaigua will be used as the sleep stop on two consecutive days so your bag will stay in your room while you ride the Day 2 looped route.
Sleep Arrangements: The overnight motels are located in Canandaigua and Auburn, NY. Canandaigua will be used twice with Day 2 being a loop ride out to Letchworth State Park.

Canandaigua to Canandaigua: many more tough, steep climbs then ending with choppy rollers. Canandaigua to Auburn: rolling terrain with a new extended route to the north and less climbing. Auburn to Ithaca: more climbs with one climb in particular being extremely steep and this will be noted on the cue sheet. We recommend a 39x26 or a triple. QuadZilla Staged Notes: At the start of each day we’ll have an information/question meeting at the start locations: Ithaca—Wegmans, Canandaigua—Super 8, Auburn—Super 8. There will be cuts mentioned on the cue sheet that will bring each day to about 100 miles but you will DNF on that day’s brevet. We’ll list restaurants for dinner in Ithaca, Canandaigua and Auburn soon. All restaurants will be within walking distance of the official motels. Ithaca has an eclectic Commons area closed to traffic, Canandaigua and Auburn have historic Main Streets to stroll. There is an information checkpoint in Letchworth on Day 2 where you will be required to answer a question on your brevet card from information on a historical plaque. Pre and post century rides with maps and cues starting from Ithaca are available. Pizza and beer party at the finish at the Meadow Court in Ithaca!!
